Aroldo Rizzo, Medical Director of Villa Sofia, Resigns: “I’m leaving as a matter of dignity.”

The decision comes a day after a brief meeting with the President of the Region, Renato Schifani. No comments have been made by Palazzo d’Orleans. Manager Roberto Colletti has been summoned for next Monday.

Rizzo resigned “as a matter of dignity,” as he stated in the closing of an emotional letter in which he strongly rejects what he considers “false and naively fanciful” accusations. The medical director of Villa Sofia Hospital, Aroldo Gabriele Rizzo, announced his decision to step down in a letter addressed to General Director Roberto Colletti, with a copy sent to General Manager Salvatore Iacolino.
